The PoINT Archiver support for additional archive storage device (“Archive Device”) and a so-called “Replication Device”, whereby data redundancy, with different storage devices and when, can be archived with different technologies desired. Data replication is done automatically and is transparent to users and applications. Furthermore PoINT Archiver provides functions for data migration between Archive and Replication Device and Device for fail-over in the event of the Archive Device.
